This weekend, Feb. 23-24, was the ACFA Semi-Annual meeting in San Antonio. We (the ACFA Pixie-Bob Breed Committee) requested Championship status, and our request was UNANIMOUSLY approved! And, it gets even better…. We requested that we be allowed to show X2’s, which the BOD also UNANIMOUSLY approved! This is huge, because many more cats will qualify, and as a result, many more breeders will be able to show in ACFA! X2’s are equivalent to a TICA O3T (a third generation Pixie-Bob). We now have an organization where we can show our O3T equivalents. What this translates into is that it’s now possible to show a tested/cleared cat that is a third generation Pixie-bob. Isn’t it great that we have another option than showing only SBT’s in TICA?
The ACFA Board was impressed with the number of Pixie-bob breeders that attended the meeting. We had representation from six different states: Christy - Idaho, Shari - Florida, Carol - Washington, Linda - Texas, BJ - Oregon, and myself Mary Gilbert - California.
If you have questions, contact any of the Breed Committee members listed below. Contact Pat Knipplemeyer for info on cleared/tested cats. The database of these cats has grown extensively, and now that we can show X2’s, many of you may already have cats that qualify. If you need to test one of your cats, contact Christy for instructions and swabs.
The ACFA BOD were extremely receptive, excited, and enthusiastic about their newest Championship breed……..Pixie-bobs! We encourage you all to become involved in this organization. They are friendly, fun, and are genuinely interested in our breed’s success. They support our breed, so let’s get out there and show our support for them.
